I spent some time looking into how to share my TiVo with all the TVs in my house. I didn't want to have to buy another TiVo nor did I want to pay the additional amount for another TiVo subscription. My search for the ideal product, started with the Leapfrog's Wavemaster 20. As I stated in my previous review, I had several problems with the product none of which I was able to resolve. The next product that I decided to try was the myAvcast MediaKit. The product only cost me $99.95, which I think is cheap considering the fact that I would have had to pay a lot more if I wanted to purchase another TiVo. ....The product arrived at my door step rather fast (as fast as UPS can deliver it). My initial thought was that I was extremely happy with how they packaged the product. I don't think I've seen packaging done as well ever before. ....the product came with a complete manual. When I say complete, I mean complete. The manual includes every little detail on how to setup the system. ....Once I figured out ... two issues, I was as happy as I could be with the product. Now I have TiVo in every room of my house! As you can imagine, this is a geek’s dream come true. When I upgraded from cable TV to satellite I lost the ability to broadcast video over my cable network using MediaCaster. In this article I explain how I solved this problem. I have a PC configured as a media server. It combines the functions of a TiVO/PVR, DVD player, MP3 jukebox, photo album, gaming system, FM radio and 5.1 Dolby Digital sound system. The PVR component consists of a hardware MPEG-2 encoder/decoder (Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250), Snapstream's Beyond TV PVR software and an ATI Radeon graphics adapter, which provides an S-video output to a TV. The PVR software performs the same functions as a TiVO. MediaCaster allowed me to access the media server content on any TV in our house. So, I could record a program and watch it or a DVD remotely in the bedroom. I use FM remote controls (ATI Remote Wonder) to control the PC from anywhere in the house....-Nigel (SEE NIGEL’s SETUP and full story)

....After good deal of research I chose the Avcast system since it allowed me to use existing coax cable network that was installed for watching cable TV. It was quickly that apparently not only would I be able to share programming on the TiVos with the family room and master bedroom, the Avcast system would also let me pipe programming to all other TVs in the house, including the TV tuner in my PC. If things worked as advertised the end result would actually be better than what I previously had with my networked SA TiVos. Fortunately, things worked exactly as advertised-- Peter SEE PETER’s SETUP and full story.

"Your product has exponentially increased the return on my technology investment. My MediaCaster is just about the coolest gadget I own, next only to the TIVO itself. (My setup includes a TIVO broadcast to and controlled by 3 additional TVs)." Jon SEE JON’s SETUP

When we got our computer three years ago, one of the justifications was to be able to listen to the Buddhist Temple services in Bangkok, Thailand. We had a computer built that was robust enough to handle the task, in fact a lot more robust than was really needed. The system included the latest sound video cards and 960MHZ processor. We could now log on and listen and watch the streaming media at the computer. This got tiresome and the rest of the family, my wife and mom (actually my wife's mom, but she is mine too since my mom passed away many years ago) soon had me turn up the sound on the 5.1 speakers so they could hear the services throughout the house and didn't have to stay in front of the computer...more from Michael.

I just want to say that your product has been great. It took me a few minutes to set up and now I am running my DirecTV with Tivo, my DVD and soon (when I order another Media Caster) my second DirecTV receiver on 3 TVs in my house. Picture quality is great, IR casters work perfectly just as if I were in the room with the components (better than the RF remotes). Nice to get a product that works as advertised with no snafus. Thanks. Matt SEE MATT’S SETUP
