Room with DVR or PVR Print

This is the simplest configuration and the typical starting point for any Avcast network, with one caveat. Since Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) have TV tuners, it is advisable to split the signal from the coax wall plate before attaching the PVR or DVR. The CableCaster replaces the splitter where Cable TV or antenna signals enter the home. A notch filter eliminates unwanted signals from the antenna or Cable TV service (you specify filter range). The DVR or PVR in Room 1 is added to the Avcast network with a MediaCaster, which takes the audio/video output of the video source and modulates it to a TV channel. The MediaCaster is set to a "Personal TV Channel", say channel 69. Any TV tuned to channel 69 can view that video source. Note the 2-way splitter/combiner in Room 1. That splitter provides the Cable TV or antenna signals to the DVR/PVR, and it also provides a path for the Personal TV Channel from the MediaCaster to enter the Avcast network. Room 4 has an IRCaster/IRDetector installed. This enables users to control the video source with its infrared remote control from Room 4. Additional MediaCasters and IRCasters can be added to the network (~8 video sources maximum).
