Room with WebTV |

|
In this scenario, an Internet Appliance (for example WebTV) is added to an Avcast network. In this case, the Internet Appliance is treated like any other video source. The CableCaster replaces the splitter where Cable TV or antenna signals enter the home. A notch filter eliminates unwanted signals from the antenna or Cable TV service (you specify filter range). The Internet Appliance in Room 1 is added to the Avcast network with a MediaCaster, which takes the audio/video output of the Internet Appliance and modulates it to a TV channel. The MediaCaster is set to a "Personal TV Channel", say channel 71. Any TV tuned to channel 71 can view the Internet Appliance. Note that in Room 1, a phone jack is typically required near the Internet Appliance. Room 4 has an IRCaster/IRDetector installed. This enables users to control the Internet Appliance with its infrared keyboard from Room 4. Additional MediaCasters and IRCasters can be added to the network (~8 video sources maximum).
